Kids can save more - money savings challenge!
If your kiddo's are anything like mine, they refuse to hear the constant: "Turn that light off" & other phrases we wish would just get through to them when it comes to saving money.

A simple, yet profitable advise tip from a friend is to...
Offer him/her a certain percentage of the household savings on bills.

To do this...
• Sit your child(ren) down & pull out your bills (water, electricity, heat, phone).
If you have just 1 child, show them the above bills & tell them you will give them a certain percentage based on how much lower they can make those bills by the next billing date.
If you have more than 1 child, assign each child one of the above bills & tell them you will give them a certain percentage based on how much lower they can make that particular bill by the next billing date.
***Be sure to give them idea's on how they can lower the bill & earn some of the extra money saved***

EXAMPLE:
Let's say your monthly water bill right now is $80.00
You have showed your child this bill.
You have offered them 1/2 of whatever is saved by them taking full charge of saving money that month.
You have offered them advice on taking charge.
In doing so, your child is the only one to say things like
"let's fix that leaky facet" or "fill the sink with water instead of having water running while you're doing dishes".
Your child also feels the rewards of the savings & doesn't feel you are nagging so much now as well as learns the reality of the importance of being earnest.
Let's say your next monthly water bill has now decreased to $60.00 because of your child saving & him/her reminding others to conserve.
Since you offered your child 1/2 of whatever is saved that month, you not only get to pocket 1/2 of the savings, but your child does too.
(In this example, it would be an extra $10 for you & an extra $10 for your child).
It's win-win for everyone!
Try this on all your bills & soon your whole family will be saving & gaining more Smile
