Our * Parmesan-Crumb Topping is just right for this creamy full-flavored pasta casserole.
Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Baking Time: 15 minutes
Makes 8 servings

1 pound linguine, broken in half
4 cups small broccoli florets
8 bacon slices, chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
4 cups half-and-half or milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 can (12 ounces) water-packed chunk light tuna, well drained
1/3 cup sliced pitted black olives
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

* OPTIONAL: Parmesan-Crumb Topping
Toss together 1 cup coarse fresh bread crumbs, 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon melted butter until blended. Sprinkle over the casserole and bake as directed.

1. Preheat the oven to 450F. Grease one 13x9-inch baking dish or two 8-inch square dishes. In a pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta for 7 minutes. Add broccoli and cook for 3 minutes, then drain.

2. In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Transfer to a plate. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of the drippings. Add the onion and cook, stirring, until soft. Add to the bacon.

3. Melt the butter in the skillet. Add the flour and cook over medium heat, stirring, until smooth. Gradually add the broth, half-and-half or milk, salt and pepper and cook, stirring, until the sauce simmers and thickens, about 15 minutes.

4. Transfer the sauce to a large bowl and add the pasta, broccoli, bacon, onion, tuna, olives and parsley; mix well. Spread evenly in the prepared dish(es). Bake for 15 minutes, until browned and bubbly at the edges.
