What is Black Friday?
The day after Thanksgiving in the United States, is frequently referred to as Black Friday.
One of the major U.S. holiday shopping days. The day many U.S. consumers begin Christmas shopping. The day is heavily promoted by retailers.
The origin of Black Friday comes from the shift to profitability during the holiday season. Black Friday was when retailers went from being unprofitable, or "in the red," to being profitable, or "in the black", at a time when accounting records were kept by hand and red indicated loss and black profit.
Usually retailers publish special sale ads with lots of bargains to get that profitability.
When is Black Friday?
The day after Thanksgiving in the United States.
When do retailers officially publish the ads?
Ads usually come out in the newspaper on Thanksgiving Day.
Some retailers will come out earlier (we'll post here everytime we find a new Sale for ya').
What are some Black Friday shopping strategies/suggestions?
The simplest strategy is to get there early in the morning and take a list of what Black Friday items you're interested in.
Some people divide up their families/friends so you may shop at seperate stores and other family members/friends take the others & communicate with Walkie-Talkies.
Plan out your items and lists so that you can get in and out of the store quickly. The sooner you get to the register, the better. Especially if you go when the stores open.
PRICEMATCH wherever possible!!!
Make sure to keep track of the timing of promotions such as $10 off $50 during a certain shopping time.
Some promotions only last from 6am - 9am or even shorter.
Check circulars and pay attention to advertisements.
Know the store policies on returns and gift cards before you buy.
Park in well-lit areas and lock your vehicle being sure any & all packages are out of view & hidden well from passer-by's.
If possible, leave children with a relative or baby sitter. If you do shop with your children, keep them close at all times.
Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing expensive jewelry.
Create a checklist of gifts.
Put together a budget.
Wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes.
* NOTE: These are rumored lists that have been found by reliable online sources. However, only the company (store listed) can verify the validity of each sale/item. Please refer to your actual OFFline newspaper flyers(ads) you'll recieve around Thanksgiving time. _________________ Click Here for your next secret goldbox deal
